STUDY ABROAD

During Spring 2023, I spent a full semester at St. John’s University in Rome, where I made so many new friends in and outside of UF! Alongside my UF online business classes, I was able to take Italian I and a course on Art and Architecture in Italy. Outside of academics, I would go on walks to explore the city, try new foods, and travel. Studying abroad allowed me to grow in so many ways as an individual, and I am so thankful to have shared this experience with such amazing people!​

My biggest takeaway from this experience was the importance of keeping an open mind and being eager to learn! I think that many people go into the program not knowing what to expect at all, and I found myself in the same boat. While there, I would reflect on how I was spending my time and how I could be more intentional with everything I chose to do. My whole study abroad experience was based on trying so many new things that I was able to become more comfortable (and even excited) about it - whether it came to speaking Italian, making new friends, or learning about Italian culture and history - which I found to be extremely rewarding.
